Gathering 2018: The Voice

This post may contain affiliate links, by which I may be financially compensated. See Disclosures.

It is Day 2 of the Mountain Gypsies' Gathering 2018, and as I'm sure you've seen by now, I'm speaking this weekend. The name of my talk is Finding My Voice, and this song popped into my head as I was writing my speech, providing me with much inspiration. Never one to ignore the Capital-V VOICE, I'd love to share it with you all, and I'd love to know what you think of it after you've heard it.

Please enjoy The Voice, beautifully sung by Eimear Quinn (Songwriters: Brendan Graham
The Voice lyrics © Peermusic Publishing). This song was the 1996 Eurovision contest winner. There have been various covers of it since, but the impact of the original performance by Ms. Quinn cannot be disputed.

Want more? This video of the winning performance introduces you to Eimear Quinn and the backing musicians, plus, seeing it performed live is just amazing. I'm impressed by her control and accuracy under such potentially nerve-wracking conditions. May my own voice being even half as strong! ☘🐝

Gathering 2018: Introducing Dana Wingerd

The Mountain Gypsies' Gathering 2018 gets closer every week, and just like I have in previous posts, my goal this week is to introduce you to another awesome person you'll see there.

Introducing Dana Wingerd!

I first met Dana at a paranormal convention she ran for 7 years: Phenomenology. Dana's journey began as a paranormal investigator because ever since she was a child, she could see spirits. Her journey includes undergoing an exorcism, being healed spiritually, and coming back to God. Dana has trained with the Mountain Gypsies and has certificates as a Reiki Master and Mountain Magic Healer.  She also started her own business with her daughter, Julia: Like Mother Like Daughter—Shining Light on the Darkness.

Dana will be speaking at the Gathering (entitled Breaking the Religious Chains: True Love), and she and Julia will have a table where you can sign up for a healing and/or purchase any one of their gorgeous handmade soaps, lip scrubs, bath salts, etc., all of which have been prayed over.

Gathering 2018 is a laid back event and a great way to decompress. Come be surrounded by the beauty of Roan Mountain, hear some inspiring stories, attend some fireside chats, be treated to an amazing party, camp out in the Mountains (or get into a B&B or a cabin), and connect with others who are also on their spiritual healing journeys.

Get your tickets here! It's only $30 for the entire weekend of lectures, workshops, and a party at Sorrento's in Banner Elk. (Other incidentals are your responsibility.) Then mark yourself as "going" on the event page, and share with your friends.

The Voices You Will Hear—So Tune In!

This post may contain affiliate links, by which I may be financially compensated. See Disclaimers & Policies on my About page.

🌟 Today is the day! 🌟

I've posted this on social media, but now that the episode is out, I can blog about it.

You may recall a post in which I talked about a podcast I've been listening to: The Voices You Have Not Heard. A few months ago, Ms. Spearman started her podcast in order to highlight people you may not have heard of, but who have something of value to share with the world. I've enjoyed this podcast because the short, digestible episodes contain a lot of wisdom and inspiration.

If you've been reading for any length of time, you know I have a specific mindset about life. I truly believe we can accomplish our goals by having a willingness to step out of our comfort zones and not place artificial limits on ourselves. Ms. Spearman wanted to know more about how I started this journey, and invited me to appear on the podcast.

You can hear it here or on iTunes.

Kick back, give it a listen, and drop me a line to let me know what you think! 🐝

Gathering 2018: Get Your Tickets Before They're Gone!

(This post may contain affiliate links, by which I may be financially compensated. See Disclaimers & Policies on my About page.)

πŸ””Hear ye! Hear ye!πŸ””

Tickets to the Gathering 2018 are limited and are starting to sell! Get yours today before they are sold out! 🌸

WHAT
Gathering 2018 is a small-scale festival where you can kick back, relax, listen, laugh, and learn, and by the time you leave, you will have made new friends for life. There will be speakers, vendors, singing and spooky tales around the campfire, horse and buggy rides through historic Roan Mountain, a creek walk in the park, workshops, and so much more.

Details can be found here, and make sure you check out the Event page. Our host, Cat Young of the Mountain Gypsies, will be posting the speaker and workshop schedule there.

(Click here to see what I posted about this event, previously.)

WHEN
June 29-July 1, 2018 (Friday to Sunday).

WHERE
Breathtaking Roan Mountain, TN, at a cottage nestled at the bottom of the mountains. Yes, the host actually does this shindig in her back yard! You will be surrounded by beauty and magic in this historic State Park area of eastern Tennessee.

COST
$30 for the entire 3-day event buys you entrance to the event, which includes the speakers/workshops and a dinner party at an upscale restaurant in Banner Elk, NC, on Saturday night.* You can't beat this price with a stick!

*Note: the horse & buggy rides are provided by another vendor for an additional fee, and any other food, accommodations, and incidentals are at your own cost.

ACCOMMODATIONS
There are cabins in the Roan Mountain State Park that are clean and come with all of the linens, dishes, etc., that you would need. I stayed in these last year and they were cleaner than some hotel rooms I've stayed in, plus the staff and rangers were all very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay there last year and I thought the pricing was reasonable because you can fit several people into one cabin.

If you prefer, you also have the option to camp "rustic" style at the site of the event itself. Our host will offer a Porta Potty, water, electricity, and a spot to put your tent for the cost of $40 for the 3-day weekend.

Otherwise there are some B&Bs, AirBnBs, and hotels in the area within a 25-30 minute drive of the event.

So get your tickets now! Yes, you! :)

If you want to learn more about the Mountain Gypsies and what they do, check out this nifty video they made. A link to their Facebook page is listed there as well.

Alrighty—getting your tickets now? Great! :) Don't forget to mark yourself as "Going" on the Event page! And next time I post about this, I will be previewing some of items I'll be offering at positively b.e.e.'s table at this event, some of which are limited edition—made only for this event. Be there or be square!
